    1999 XL 1200 Cat question

Looking at 2 1999 XL 1200. Both still have Cats in them. 107 hours and 130 hours. Should I remove? What actually happens to them? I read they fall apart. How will they run when the cats fall apart. Thanks

No one? Just need to know what happens when the Cat either plugs up or falls apart. Thanks
