    99 GP1200 next mod

Hello all, been reading for a while, first post.

Question, I recently bought a stock GP1200 and put an R&D intake grate on it to improve the take-off.

When sitting still, or close to it, I can grab the throttle, RPM goes to 7k, and it seems like the impeller is cavitating.

I would like to improve my out-of-the-hole speed. What do you think would help me the best? I would like to keep the engine stock if possible. Thanks.

    dil

Sounds like the engine is revving fine I would look into the impeller and wear ring. if you are running a stock prop I reccomend the solas YD-SC-X0 it will help a lot I also suggest an R&D ride plate.

The intake grate was a good idea. BUT to gain the most benefit from it it must be sealed to the tunnel to prevent sucking air. ( 3M 4200 Fast Cure recomended sealant ) and as Bill said, an aftermarket impeller will make a big difference.
