Another leaking oil cooler. Can I just cap it off?
After replacing my oil cooler about a year ago it is leaking again and shooting oil out of the back of my ski ( I have open loop cooling)
Can I just cap it off the water line at the j pipe and not run water
through it ?

Yup I don't run my oil cooler hooked up when running. I have Rivas open loop. That oil needs to be at 210 degree average or you will get fuel in your oil from the engine not staying at constant operating temps Keep in mind I'm in canada and our climate is way different than most of yours as is riding season so variables come into play

Just remember that if oil is going into your water through the cooler then water will get into your engine oil when the engine oil has less pressure than the water. Ask me how I know . I just think you should or could address how much water and what pressure you are actually putting into the oil cooler, but still run one.
