    Gp1200R engine install

So I have searched hi and low and just about every where, but can't seem to find a definite answer. Before I even attempt to install this engine, can it be reinstalled with the carbs AND pipe bolted on ? I'll be using a hoist if that makes any difference on being able to maneuver it in.

    THANKS!

On a GPR engine I usually install the exhaust manifold and carbs before installation

XLT is a little harder with the carbs installed

Do you put the exhaust chamber in & prop it up somewhere before you sit the engine in?, or can it be maneuvered into place once the engine is in?

The "U Pipe" in the diagram can be installed once the engine is mounted inside the hull. It kind of twists into place counterclockwise

    Great, thank you.
I had pulled my cylinders off to diagnose the fault before I removed the engine & found it was a tight fit to remove the u pipe whilst the engine was in even with the cylinders off. I ended up pulling the engine out 1st. So wasn't sure if it would fit back in with engine installed now with the the heads etc on. Cheers, thanks for the help.

Hi saltwater. Can you give me any secrets to installing this exhaust chamber. Ive tried installing it counterclockwise but it keeps getting stuck. What am i doing wrong? What's the trick?

The big exhaust piece that runs along the right side of the engine will need to be out. You'll need to start the side of the u pipe with the bolt holes in straight up and down where you can fit it between the engine and hull, feed it in and around the front of the engine rotating it flat into its normal orientation as you go. It will be tight at first and seem like it can't work and then it will just fall into place.
