Should I change the oil?
I bought a 08 15F with only 32 hours.
The prior owner had the oil changed last summer at 23 hours for the 20 hour check. Since the oil is now about a year
old should I go ahead and get the oil and filter changed? At worst I was going to get it done at around 40-45 hour mark.
Oil changes on a jet ski are all new to me…this is my first 4 stroke ski.

Congratulations on your Kawasaki STX-15F.
I am most certain the oil change interval is clearly defined in your Owner's Manual.
Concerning the Oil Change Interval for the Model JT1500H (Ultra-300x) - published information in the Owner's Manual - it is stated:
Change Engine Oil every 25 hours (or every year)
Change Engine Oil Filter every 100 hours
Hence, if I was you - I would probably run it for a few more hours and then just suck out the oil and keep the filter - assuming it's an OEM Kawasaki Filter till the end of the season - and start fresh with a new filter and fresh oil in the Spring.
I been using the Kawasaki Oil - yet you can use another more readily available motor oil that is supplied by the local Auto Parts Stores certified for those ratings (for the Ultra-300x = API Rating of "SM") and viscosity (for the Ultra-300x Viscosity = 10w40) as defined in your STX-15F Owner's Manual. Generally 5 quarts is sufficient for 1 oil change.
Lastly - I use this pump to suck out the engine oil. It works perfectly:
Good Luck !!!

Your oil change should be at least once a year. And if he changed it last summer I would change it now.

Less than 10 hours on the engine since the last oil change?
If it's my ski (and I have a 15F), I would put another 10-20 hours of riding then do it.
Oil remains fairly clean on the 15F engine unlike sc engines.

First thing I do with anything new, ie ski, bike, car, is to change the oil, that way I KNOW it is right.

Oil is cheaper than an engine....

Thanks guys. Yeah I think I will change it this weekend after some riding.
Ive checked the level it is good and oil looks clean though.
But like said a engine is much cheaper than oil change.
