Happy to sad in a few minutes... damaged hull on my GTX
Well thought id share this jem with the forum . But I want to say first and foremost I dont blame the prior owner ( fellow GH member) one bit and honestly believe him when we spoke about this earlier today.
Was just finishing up changing my bilge pump and sat the ski out by truck nose down while I went inside to get some stuff and then was gonna head to the big lake here. Well came back out and noticed a small weird puddle from near mid section of the ski and thought oh crap lol. I took a look and could see a lot of water on the belly coming from and around a prior horrible repair job. So figured day done push it back to the garage and start digging....well wasnt very pleased with what I found. Tomorrow going to see if its fixable and at what cost, otherwise looking into another GTX or RXT hull. This is on an 03 GTX....enjoy
Sorry for the small pics, my iPhone is being lazy at syncing so took off my Facebook.

Yeah I would of definitely noticed something that bad. As I told Ryan through e-mail, I never had any water issues with the ski and barely ever had any in the hull. I did own the ski for a short time and most of that time it sat. The times that I did take it out was for the entire day and never had any significant amount of water in the hull. Never even thought about installing a bilge pump there was such small amounts that drained out after a day of riding. I am now seeing the pics on here of the damage and I know for sure I would of noticed that!! I will work with Ryan and do my best to make this right.

Wow, that was previously "hidden" or went unnoticed? ........ that is hard to imagine

I can't even imagine what you would have to do to cause that damage... especially how to cause that kind of damage without making the rest of the ski look trashed, assuming the rest looks ok... it must look ok or you wouldn't have purchased it.

If you look at the hull just next to the exposed fiberglass it looks like it has been repaired the surface looks like unsanded filler that has been painted. Someone has done a shoddy repair job at some point in the past. Pull the motor, flip it over, grind out the damage and see how bad it is.

I'm gonna temp repair it now then pull motor and go from there at the end of season. I'm thinking of getting another hull but not many around and I've had my fill with shippers lol. Have an RXT hull not real far away but I think the price is a little high for what's included ..... And he wasn't to happy I think with my offer.
But yeah it had been repaired before and not very well. Hey shit happens I guess. And go figure I just sold my last Polaris last week so down to just this beast.
