Here is what I use Buy several of each size "AA" in .010 and .020 and .030 and mix and match till you get the ride plate to your liking. When you get close you will be amazed in how much just .010 will make in how your ski rides. Tommy Jordan http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-shims/=s6fetw click on the 18-8 stainless slotted shims for more details and part numbers. Nice thing is you only have to loosen the ride plate bolts to change shim sizes

I''m new to setting up the ride plate and I'm wondering under which bolts you shim the plate? The bolts on the bow end or the transom end? Or both? I have a 2014 FX SVHO Cruiser. I just ordered from Jerry an r3 reflash, the R and D cooling and a Fizzle intercooler plus a couple of other things. So far stock the ski as run 71.7 on GPS in 82 degree water with 86 air and 60 percent humidity. 2 solid bars of fuel on the gauge and me in the middle seat weighing about 235 lbs. Before installing any of the mods, I would like to get a good baseline for the plate. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh and the ski has about 6 hours on it.

Any industrial supplier in any country will sell those shims. They're very common and typically used to align machinery and rotating equipment trains. Any mechanic or millwright working at a powerplant or factory should be able to point you in the right direction.
