I've had an 04 R12x for 3 years, NO issues. I also Modify them quite heavily with no problem. its a great 2 seater ski. follow the manual for service.

    Shawn,
what was the problem with the "oil in the turbo?" This was all I could get out of the snobby-ass Honda mechanics I see at the lake.

I used to see Honda mechanics at the lake with no less than 5 units working on the turbo per week. Now I only see one or two per week with a broken unit. They must have fixed something.

Was it something simple or was it a recall?

the turbo is oil cooled, but there has never been a problem with them. The waste gate linkage (on the turbo exhaust housing) does however needs to be lubricated every other salt ride or every month in fresh water because it will stick/freeze if not.

Would it be ok to use this jet-ski to pull someone knee boarding?

    JT,

In some states it's illegal to tow tubes, skiers, etc with a 2 seater. You'd need to check your local laws, but as far as the motor. Yes, the Turbo 1200 motor in the F-12X and R-12X will pull a kneeboarder just fine all day long without refilling the gas tank. Unless you kneeboard for 100 miles or so.

Does the honda R-12x has places for rearview mirrors ?? Alabama Law requires you to have 2 rearview mirrors to haul a skiier
