Ultra 250x 300x Fuel Vent Check Valve and Pump Screen question

Looking at the service manual, do I really have to nearly pull apart the whole top half of these skis to service these two things? Or does someone have a quicker way? Thanks!

check valve in the 300 can probably be reached if you got a long skinny hand. not gonna be "easy" pretty cluttered in there. what are you looking to check for? not really a serviceable part but i suppose it could fail

Just pulled skis out of storage and am doing all the maintenance. I've never checked those two things and have always said "next year... next year". I would hate to have a weekend ruined and get back to find out I just had a dirty fuel pump screen!

Do you clean your fuel pump screen on a regular basis? or the check valve?

Same here. The 250x is a 2008 and has never had the screen cleaned. I'll have to think about whether its worth ripping the ski to get to those parts. The 300x is a 2013 so it can probably go a season or two or six!

Its actually not all that much work. 12 or so 10 mm short thread bolts and you can turn the center black portion sideways to get the inspection cover off.... but those aren't parts I spend a lot of time questioning

I should have listened to you guys and skipped those inspections! I did them today and everything looked brand new in there—just wasted an hour. Fuel screen didn't have a speck on it. Fuel check valve checks out great. This is on a 6 year old Ultra 250x. Thanks Mike H for the idea on spinning the black steering cowl sideways to get to the inspection port.

Those are on the list. Much easier to get to than the stupid check valve and fuel screen!
