    1998 GSX LTD Rossier stageI+pipe

    I have a Rossier stage I kit plus pipe. I was told the engine rpm was to be somewhere around 6900-7000 for max power. Ive only been able to hit 6800 and thats on a good day. I rebuilt the motor completely last season, broke it in good and again sometimes hit the 6800 mark for rpm. The ski since the pipe never has felt quick, i can get beat by a stock gsx ltd. Towards the end of last season the rpm fell down towards 6400-6500 rpm with terrible midrange and topend power.Took a look at the rave valve and they are clean. Does anybody have any experience with this machine and rossier kit, if so please reply, with some ideas. Thanks Anthony.

    I've been running my GSXL from 6950-7150, depending on the weather...With a pipe you should be closer to 7400...

    Pressure test that pipe, it may be leaking internally.

    Question

    when you took a look at the rave valves did you just take the cover off, or did you take the entire housing and valves out and clean them. Cause just taking the top cover off wont tell you anything.

    I am with RXPSteve, sounds like your pipe is cracked.

    Rossi pipes make their power at 7200-7300 (lower than the coffman powerband range - 7400-7600)

    I am bettin on a cracked pipe, but also check and make sure your water injection solenoid does not have trash in it causing it to hang open. Also make sure your water settings are set right.

    The water solenoid is a great idea, that is about 6 years old. It might be shot.

    Yeah i had them apart, but i will go through them again

    I was thinking the worst as far as the pipe goes.
    But as stated above if the water injection is not working it will KILL the rpms and performance.

    You can remove the springs from the raves and try a WOT run. IF the RPMS come back Check the pulse line for the raves at the engine block. they are notorious for cracking, burning on the pipe, or just disconnected.

    If i find that the solenoid is fine then how do i pressure test the pipe?
