    RXT-X issues and questions???

    Hey guys, please help with any thoughts on this issue. My buddies 08' RXT-X 255 wouldn't go above 7200 rpm, or faster than 50-55mph and was saying that he was having an issue keeping it straight. It would stop for bit, allowing him full power, but then back to what he was saying and then finally, the problem just shut down the machine and wouldn't restart again. No obstructions in intake grate and or pump and sparks plugs showed wear, but still look ok. Oil seemed fine and correct level.. Any thoughts on this ??? Thanks guys

    Are you 100% sure the intake grate has no damage, clear and bolted up correctly? Next, impeller and wear ring free of debris no damage? Next, raise the reverse grate and make sure the steering nozzle is free of debris, no damage. Next, check the venturi nozzle bolted to the rear of the pump is bolted up securely with all 3 bolts. Next, make sure the pump itself and all 4 bolts holding the pump on are secure. Any of these issues will cause steering problems and a big loss in performance. A small rock wedged in the impeller can bind up the works easy!

    If all of that is good, pull the supercharger (SC) hose off, try to turn the SC wheel by hand, it should not move. If it spins the SC has let go and will require the engine to be removed, repaired and SC rebuilt. BIG $$$$.

    Hopefully, you will find the issue.

    yes, but a 4-tec should never just shut down on its own, that's bad. 55mph is also signs of possible SC issue. sounds like bad SC bearings.

    How many hours since the SC was rebuilt?
