2005 Rxp Rebuild
I was encouraged by another member to do a build thread on my broken rxp. A few weeks back I dropped a valve I need pistons, a head, and new block which cracked in the center piston. I see no point in rebuilding this motor, only putting a different one in. My mechanic has a 09 with 43 hours ready to go for 4k. With some convincing I believe I can get the deal done but I am open to other suggestions.? I won't go the SBT route since they charge you to send back your broken motor. I will be posting updating pictures on my progress but for now here's the damage that's been done!

Does the motor come with all the electronics?

U will need every electrical part, including the dash, Gas tank, fuel module, Voltage regulator, Steering harness, ECU, Main harness, and Engine harness to make it run....
Your 05' Parts will not work , all is different, except the VTS, & Speedo wheel.
The Block is the same tho..

another route would have been an OEM reman from your local dealer-- about $2400 and comes with all the gaskets for the install. Your core (junk) motor goes back to your dealer. Oddly enough, the flywheel bolts are not included. I think it is an amazing deal they are offering

I contacted my Local Seadoo dealer on a new rebuilt and they thought I was crazy. "There isn't anything like that available." Asked about a rebuilt head as well. Then they start with "What your year?", What engine? What.... bla bla blaaa.... Parts looker uppers. Wish I had a dealer that know something..... Is there a part number for these "OEM" remanufactured engines? Part of me thinks your dealer is just buying a SBT for you....

I previously worked at a seadoo dealer and they did have a reman program. But I've recently just heard that they are no longer offering it and warranty claims have become stiffer. As there having engines rebuilt at the dealer instead of being sent a reman'd motor.
