for the guys who want to upgrade to the svho pump

if you want to upgrade to the svho pump ,you will need to buy the new strainer or filter as Yamaha calls it. its bigger than the old style.

I thought Jerry was able to modify something to make the stock strainer work.

    Hey Mike,

Here is a lil more info-

Please let us know how well she holeshots/performs, once you get the SVHO pump & your repitched prop in & spinning..

Since we talked (and the more I think about it), I may have to exactly copy your FX/Sho conversion setup later this year. To have a perfect non Nano 77ish, second ski for the gf & Jumper for the Winter.

I have research and cant find any mods to the old strainer to work with the new pump. the old one is way too small , if you just move out 1/4 inch you will uncover the actual hole on the pump. I don't think its going to work like that, it will create turbulence, in my opinion.

hey brother, I have read the whole thread and they only talk about the bolt pattern, the difference is actually the strainer itself, I was surprise today when I was installing the new bearings into the new svho pump , and I look to the right and I saw the difference, oh boy I was piss, now I have to wait another week , because its not available anywhere, it has to be order directly from Yamaha.

no problem , as soon I can get it up and test I will be posting results in my other thread , [ if I can find it again ] hahaha. I hope I can go pass the 77 , since it was already gps with half tank and two riders at 73.8 if I best remember , and with a broken pump , it had two big chunks on two of the vanes missing.
