Changing handle grips on Stock handle bars 2004 Honda Aqua Trax R-12x

Does anyone know how, or if I can change the handle grips on my 2004 Honda Turbo Aqua Trax R-12X? Today I tried to take them off but it seems the handle grip is made into the handle because on the end the handle bar is a big metal piece bigger than the handle shaft itself. and seems like the grip is made onto it, or am I wrong>? Can anyone help with this issue? and if i can change them can you show me which ones I need?
    Thanks in advance!!

You will have to cut them off with a razer, I changed mine to ODI grips Rogue style, much more comfortable and easy on the hands. This will entail you grinding off the end where it flares out. Not a super hard job cut just to the flare and measure/order the correct size. I have been very happy with mine.

Yes well that is not the problem I can easily cut them, off but as I wrote there is a huge ball of metal on the end on my stock handle bars which I'm thinking wont let new handle grips go around?

I believe that's the part you have to grind off. I came across the same problem

Grind off the flared end and install the Odi grip much more comfortable. If you want stock grips order from Hondaeasttoledo.
