    MFD suddenly not functioning properly

I have a '98 SLTH 700 twin. The MFD suddenly quit today. It was working when I cranked the ski in the driveway before going to the lake, but nothing registered on the display when I got to the lake. The display shows 000's on the screen. Neither of the buttons are working. The gas and oil indicators do seem to be working though. So the display is getting power.

I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but if anyone has any advice or knows what to look for, that info would be great.

BTW, I just replaced both pistons and rings due to an unfortunate overheating disaster. I rehoned both cyls and now both are only producing 120 psi. I am disappointed with these numbers, but the ski ran great. It seems to have picked up a couple of mph's, based on my son chasing, and not being able to keep up with me on the other ski. Any thoughts on the psi numbers?

    Thanks.

Unplug the connector behind the MFD display. Wait a long time, say ten minutes or more, then plug it back in. See if the MFD now behaves.

In some cases the MFD may need to be re-calibrated to get it to behave. There is a button press sequence for re-calibration but the battery voltage must be exactly 14 volts during the process, otherwise the voltage reading after calibration will be incorrect.

Just removing power from the display for a few minutes, then reconnect?
