    2003 fx140 does it have a wear ring

    Gents

    my friend want me to work on his 2003 fx140

    anyone have a shop manual or the page that shows the wear ring

    i have a 2002 manual and their is no wear ring so i am confused

    and it not like i was real smart before that

    every ski has a wear ring. its the outside liner where the prop rides.

    ok ??? the shop manual i have does not match this part number it show as stainless steel not replaceable
    replace impeller housing

    right , its a ss liner inserted into an aluminum housing. you will need to replace the whole thing as it shows on the part diagram.

    thats a plastic insert to replace the ss liner , my opinion, its not worth the money, it does not last.

    Your ski doesn't use a plastic wear ring like other ski does, yamaha don't called it wearing they called it impeller housing that's why you're confused.

    use the stainless steel wear ring/impeller housing, the plastic get chewed up very easily by minor debris that normally just passes the SS ring
