    VX110 or XLT Hull?

Opinions wanted on which hull would be a better choice for a F.I. 1300 PV engine? I already have a gas tank with fuel pump for the XLT.

    Thanks!

    Scott,
Better choice to do what with the ski? The VX has a fairly wet ride, but will probably go faster than an XLT hull with that motor in it. If I am not mistaken the VX has less of a deadrise and doesn't handle bigger water very well. On the other hand, an XLT hull will handle the rough stuff a lot better but probably won't be as fun to ride. I am guessing that all the mounts are the same. If it is an older VX hull, you might want to "through bolt" the bearing plate to keep it from de laminating at the worst possible moment. Can you say aux bilge pump? Might want to consider adding trim (not that anyone's done that already...) as with that much power, it might take some help to keep the nose down.

I have several XLT's in family and my dad has a VX110. Honestly I think the XLT's handle and ride alot better, and are faster. The only advantage of the older VX is fuel economy. A 1300 in a XLT should be able to run mid 60's without a sweat. Good luck.

I thought of doing a 2 stroke fuel injection also in the xlt hull, but will need too much. Have most of the electronics, throttle bodies, stator, flywheel, ECU, etc, but will need the fuel tank/ pump, various sensors, 1300r top end, cables, etc. but thinking a good carb job should do it.

Why was it dangerous? I have an xlt efi ported 1300 that does mid 70's all day long and its solid as can be. Skips across a 2 foot chop as well as my fzr!
