Im totally at a loss with this Ski - dont know what to do
How can I diagnose problems when it throws codes consistently inconsistent?
In other words some days it will throw none (very rare)
Other days it will throw some (most)
And other days so many (2 and 3) and go into limp mode with a steady beep.
Then sometimes it will clear itself suddenly DURING limp mode and run fine, and others it wont and it will spit and sputter at idle and clear up above 3k rpm and run like a bat out of hell.
The point is I can never go very far because I just cant trust it not to go into limp mode and go 2mph back to dock.
This weekend I pulled every fuse and replaced with dielectric grease. Didn't help. This thing is certifiably insane.

electrical. Check your cables for corrosion and make sure your battery is good.

Listen Ive been working on Cars Trucks Boats anything everything internal combustion for 25 years now. I've basically done anything and everything I can do at the dock with hand tools. I've replaced the battery checked and tightened every electrical connection and plug that I can reach within the access panels. The only thing I've actually fixed that didn't come back so far was a zero power issue and a charging problem.

Check the ground cable from the battery.. I had a crazy ski last year that had a bad connection and was acting similar

Is it like a car where the ECU will store the code UNTIL it gets cleared?...

It would be help full if you identified the year model and any modes that you have done. You are on the correct track by checking the fuses, the problem is likely a poor electrical connection. Unfortunately tracking it down is very difficult. If you know your basic electricity then go for it otherwise hire a pro. I would start by disconnecting the battery, unplugging the wiring harness from the multipurpose electrical module and the engine control module, examining the pins for corrosion and reconnecting.

confirm your steering harness connector is properly connected and secured.
The codes being thrown, are they consistent? same codes?

Seems you have been worried about this skis electrical system since day 1. Any chance this ski had flood damage from Sandy?
