Cool Need help deciding on a new ski, first Yamaha ski FZS vs VXR

Had a 07rxt got rid of it and now I'm on the market for a new ski. I have the opportunity to jump on a 2013 fzs for the same price as a 2014 VXR. I want to know if it's worth it or not? I like the VXR for the simplicity in maintenance but Forced induction is addicting especially when modding. How reliable is the supercharger in the 13? I hated my 07 Rxt back when they used the ceramic bearings causing engine failure. Any info or experience with these skis would be greatly appreciated...

It's pretty simple to tell the difference IMO and it sounds like you already know the pros and cons between the two skis. You either 1) live with high 60s, low 70s and close to no maintenance (VXR) or 2) buy a ski that will probably wear down quicker, potentially have clutch issues, but also have the capability of modding for 90+ MPH (FZS)...If you are happy with 70 MPH I would go with the VXR 10 times out of 10.

I'd go with the FZS as it has the newer clutch with minimal normal use failures, better riding hull in chop, trim and I'm a fan of the under seat storage bin. Still faster and the intercooler is basically worry free.

If you want to go faster than 72 MPH, get the FZS.

2013 FZS are 87 octane also. Couldn't go wrong either way... both were Yamahas.

Congrats on your new skis. Going from the RXT hull to that VXR hull in the Miami ocean chop is gonna be brutal...
but hey, at least it's a Yamaha and you won't have to worry about any ceramic washers from Sea-Doo.
