    1200/800 XLT Display

Does anyone know if the face of an 800/1200 display can be polished? If so, what do I need?

I believe it is a think plastic overlay and would be careful with it, its thin. you might try using ArmorAll on it to put a shine on it, at least till the water washes it off.

Thanks for the reply. What I need is a serious polishing. The LCD segments are barely visible.

    Try waxing it or polish.

Would buffing compound be too coarse?

I'd use a 3M headlight polishing kit. Maybe just use the trizact pad then the rubbing compound. Don't use the coarser pads. Do it by hand.

Put water on it as you sand with the trizact pad. Wet sanding you can see the discolored areas to make sure you sanded enough before buffing with compound. Be careful not to remove too much material. If the discoloration goes too deep, it may have to stay.

The 3m kit worked great. I didn't use a drill. Just the pads on the wheel and used back and forth motion. Looks like a new one. Thanks to all.
