Fastest Speed with STOCK INTERCOOLER?? FZR

I have a 2009 FZR i just bought and I'm piecing together a budget 80mph build. It is possible with the stock intercooler or does it really make a huge difference when you upgrade the wheel?? I have a B1 wheel now.

Heatsoak would be your challenge. I got like a sustanined 2 mph increase with an aftermarket cooler. You might get your speed until the heatsoak sets in I would think. Good luck with your goal.

Run the svho intercooler. Its cheap enough and works well.

You will gain 20hp at stock boost pressure. I'd say it's well worth it, Julio...

Raising boost pressure increases the intake temps and limits the capabilities of a stock intercooler. When doing so it also increases the chances of detonation. A Band-Aid is running richer air fuel ratios to compensate and attempt to lower the intake temps by additional fueling into the which begins to wash the performance gains of the additional boost. Potentially save your motor in the long run and install a better cooler. Seeing how fast you can go on a stock cooler isn't the smartest thing to do in my opinion...more of a way to showing how little you care about your equipment. A cooler is one of the first things I'd buy...basically a great preventive measure that you can always grow into. Your motor will thank you for it.

Intercooler it is. I have a PWR laying around. I'll stick that on there.

I went ahead and ordered a Riva Intercooler and a E1 wheel with billet shaft. So much for being cheap. HAHA
