    Gpr 1200 temp warning light

So I was out riding on the river near my house this past weekend and my wave runner was running fine. Toward the end of the day it started acting up. The temp warning light came on so I turned it off. I have been reading on here it may be the water temp sensor located right before the water box. My question is how can I test to see if it's this sensor before I order it. I'd hate to just throw parts at it without being certain. Any feed back would be appreciated.

Download the service manual, it's out there for free. Here's the test page. If there is any moisture in your display, the display is likely bad. That's what happened to me. There's a test procedure for the MFD in the manual as well.Click image for larger version.
