Riding in Pensacola
A buddy and I are coming down to do some riding June 20-22. Will be riding all 3 days. Planning on Pcola Orange beach loop and the Pcola to Destin from Gators trails but not set in stone. Just wanna ride and have fun. Anyone out and wanna ride with us or show us around that would be great.

I'll be in Oklahoma that weekend at a vintage PWC Rally (Wetbike Rally), but I've done both of those areas and those are great rides. We did the Orange Beach area per Gator's routes. Here's the trip report I submitted: http://pwctrails.blogspot.com/2012/0...encounter.html

My 2: For OB, launch at the end of the road, marked Marian Rd Ramp - I think it's actually called Mossy Point or Boggy Point, something like that... It's right across from Bird, Walker & Robinson Islands. These islands are where all the locals hang out. On a pretty weekend, it may actually be tough to find a spot to beach a PWC.
As far as the trail, Lulu's on the west end is very popular, and despite it's commercialism - the food is pretty good. On the east end, I like the Sunset Grill - next to Holiday Harbor Marina (fuel available). Almost across the GIWW from the Sunset Grill is Hub Stacey's - it's a neat place for a cold one, hidden in the oaks behind the boat ramp there.
I've had a good meal at the Bear Pt Marina (fuel available) on lower Arnica Bay. On upper Arnica, of course, is Pirate's Cove - EVERYONE goes to PC, but I'm not a big fan. Greasy hamburgers are the special and stray dogs have the run of the place - literally.
If you do the loop, on the west end - for history nuts - is Ft. Morgan. I once spent 2 hours there taking over 100 pix... but that's me.
If you're into antique outboard motors, completely restored, visit Barber Marina on upper Bay la Launch - pretty neat stuff there.
True insider tip: Wave jumper? If the tide and wind are right, you will not be disappointed on the south side of the Perdito Pass Bridge.
Going east toward's P'cola - Robertson Island offer plenty of parking.
No, I didn't mention the Flora-Bama... who hadn't heard of that place.

Hey KawaKing will be riding Friday. Hoping to get started by 9. We are staying at the Portofino on Pensacola Beach. We will be putting in at Shoreline Park South Ramp close to Pensacola Beach Bridge. The plan is to do the loop around orange beach and come back on the ICW.
I had planned on going to pirates cove to get lunch (big greasy burger) and a Bushwacker because i grew up going there as a child. Spent Many hrs on that deck running around. Paul Sr and my Grandpa were drinking buddies when he was at the Cove. He would rent the old cabins there for a couple weeks every summer. Alot of first times there. So kinda wanna see the old place. From there just play. Maybe hit a local hang out or Two. Maybe a little sight seeing. Mainly riding and having a few drinks.
KawaKing i will pm my number to ya. If ya wanna ride with us or know any places to hit give me a shout thurs eve and we will make some plans.
Gator thanks for making those trails availible for everyone to use. Even though i grew up their till i was a teen i dont remember much about the waterways except staying at Dauphin Island over to Navarre and all in between for summer vacations or visiting family in Pcola and making a run to the beach for a day. This will be my first time bringing my ski to Pcola.
Riding on Sat June 21 is planned to ride to destin but if anyone wants to ride and show us around will be up for that also. Plans can be changed.

Hal, you are quite welcome. Obviously I don't know all there is to know about any waterway - and most are submissions from other riders. I simply take the info, do my research, and post the ride. I do ask that if you find something wrong or noteworthy, please advise - it will be corrected/added to the trail.
Got your PM - if you have any trouble, downloading, converting, or uploading - just let me know.

Me and Graphite might ride this weekend. We both live near Destin so we could meet you on this end if you make it over here. Keep us posted.
