Yamaha PV Engine can you replace the piston and ring without pulling the engine

I am going to take the head off to see what is wrong with my engine. The back cylinder compression is only 104 compared to the other two of 120.

I am hoping I can just clean up the cylinder and replace the rings and piston if needed. Can this be done without pulling the engine?

    I have a 1999 Yamaha 1200 xl ltd

it can be done, but it's tricky and you'll need help.

I'd suggest pulling the engine as you are going to have to remove all the stuff( intake and exhaust manifolds) anyway to get the jugs off.
