    Price Feeler (99 XPL)

    Thinking about selling my very clean 99 XPL with a trailer and Iím wondering whats a fair price. I have a bunch of spare parts, new fuel lines, rideplate, spare set of carbs with linkage, Bill Oí jet kit still in the bag, etc. Trailer has new lights, tires, straps, etc. Now comes the fun part, the motor is currently out of the ski, I redid all the engine gaskets and a did pressure test on the motor, carbs rebuilt with proper pop-off set. Iím in the process of installing a new low hour bendix and starter from a 2002 (due to stripped teeth).

    My question is should I put the motor back in or leave it out. My biggest concern with a used 2 stroke is the condition of the crank and bearings, thatís the deal breaker or maker for me. Having the motor on my bench a potential buyer can see and feel the condition of the bearings and crank as opposed to taking my word that they are in great shape, blah, blah, blah. Or, would it be better to just install the motor back in?

    $1500 tops the way it sits with all the extras and CLEAN.

    Personally I'd put the engine back in it. Although it's smart to inspect the crank and bearings, most buyers are going to just want to hear it run, or take it for a test drive.

    Price wise I'm no help. Later two strokes are worth a small fortune in my corner of Canada.
