Polaris Virage TXi turns only 6000rpm by full power

    Hey Guys,
I come from Germany and I have a question to you.

My Jetski is a Polaris Virage TXi from 2001( he has a direct injektion).
The Jet rides good so 80 mp/h, but than from one of the other time the jet turns only 6000rpm, before he turned up to 7500rpm.

My problem is that I have no Polaris trader in Europe or Germany and I have checked all electrical parts.
In display stands direct after starting ''check engine'' but i cant find any mistake or something wrong and reseting with the two buttons on the electrcalbox will not delete the mistake.

My question is now what mistake or damage could it be? The jet has the same power, as before the error file in display but he turns only until 6000rpm.

    Thanks for the help.

    Welcome

The typical sustained RPM at full speed for this engine is 6700 to 6900 RPM. The EMM control system limits maximum red line RPM to 7200.

Is this watercraft new to you? Has this machine ever worked correctly at 6700+ RPM for you?

Does the Check Engine warning message stay on while the engine is running?

    Hello,
K447 yes the jet is new to me but I ride it three times before and there were no problem. The jet was by 7000-7500 rpm with a speed of 80mph.
Now the jet only turns 6000 rpm and the check engine light is on by runing engine, but if I hold the rpm unteil 4500-5000 rpm the check engine light goes out.
But if I will give more speed the check engine light comes .

I#m shure that it was 80mph because i can't thought it to that the jet reaches 100km/h

That ski should run roughly 60 MPH or around 100 km/h

If this machine is a genuine Polaris manufacture Virage TXi model the maximum RPM limit is 7200 and the normal on the water RPM is 6900.

Can you post photos of the engine and of the sides showing the model information?

To read engine trouble codes from the EMM engine computer there is a simple LED code reading tool that can be used. Click on my signature links for more information, then find the Ficht section for your red 'domestic' engine.

    This is my jet.
BryanP you're right I had a wrong Display speed in my mind the jet runs now 40 mph and before 65-70mph.
    I can't upload the pictures.
But on The hull stands Virage TX.
The engine is a 1200 Genesis with direct injektion.

It would be helpful to know what trouble codes the EMM has recorded.

See the following to use a simple LED tool and service power jumper to read the stored EMM service codes. Record the old service codes on paper.

Then clear the old codes. Read the EMM codes again, make sure there are no codes remaining.

Briefly run the engine on the trailer, then shut it off. Read the codes. There should be no new codes. If there is a code already, then something is wrong.

Ride the watercraft on water just long enough to trigger the check engine light.

Return to land and read the codes again.

Tell us what codes were found before clearing, after clearing, and again after riding on water.

How to read Polaris Ficht EMM trouble codes without special software or a computer

Clearing EMM Service Codes using jumper or TPS cycling
