R&D is best, but some want to buck soonner than 80. My 08 wanted to buck around 77-78. Only way to keep the the ski fairly safe to around 85 or so, is to go with pressure relief.

This was posted by JT while back good info!!!

Thanks Scott that is exactly what I was looking for.

My observations are that the Riva and OEM grates are very similar and will have almost equal hook up and performance. The "camber" of the wing is more aggressive on the Riva. Just like on an aircraft wing, the low pressure area is on top of the curve of the wing. In this case the wing is upside down, so the high pressure area is in the top of the tunnel and low pressure side is on the bottom. The R&D directs the water into the middle of the impeller and the other two towards the top of the tunnel mainly hitting the top blades of the impeller.

I would think the Riva will perform better at slower speeds and suffer at absolute top speeds. When you curve a wing more, it allows the wing to stall at a much slower speed, but limits higher speeds. The camber of the wing is going to slow it down some, compared to the R&D wing. The R&D wing is also much larger and helps explain why the ski stays planted to the water much better compared to the OEM or WORX grates.

On different note, the blades don't hang down as low as the R&D so maybe myself and others won't be turning right all the time at high speeds.......
