As long as you have a decent frame location and angle to mount them on the trailer.

Some designs are picky about the strap angle leaving the device and can be hard to release under tension if the strap angle is not right.

I use similar devices as a safety strap to the bow eye.

they also sell a set of these.. im guessing to keep them off the frame and at a position where they will be under a bit less tension then mounting them right up to the frame..

im currently using a set of these but in a west marine version and they keep coming loose.. id tighten them down snug and within my quick 3 mile drive home from the ramp they have a ton of slack in them and are super loose..

I figure if im going to upgrade I might as well do it right..

I do not like the cam lock style of strap for securing a watercraft to the trailer. I much prefer ratchet type straps.

The cam lock straps cannot be snugged as tight as a ratchet strap and the cam lock straps generally work loose as the trailer flexes going down the road.

The mounting examples for those Universal Mounting brackets are ridiculous. The first looks like it would twist and bend as soon as tension was applied.

The last example has the bracket end positioned right against the trailer marker lamp!

And the middle example has the strap obscuring the trailer brake lamp

Depending on your trailer and how the straps need to run up to the hull hoops, you may need to make custom metal brackets to position the Boat Buckles properly.

I installed them last year and they work well. The self retracting feature stopped working by the end of the summer so I got replacements under warranty through the company I bought them from (etrailer.com). These save time at the ramp and don't loosen like the typical straps do.

I have the same exact set. Used them on my single , now I've got them on my double. Only downside is finding a place to mount then so the angle isn't all jacked up. I think the get just as tight as a ratchet strap. +1 in my book.

This set is for the bow, they make one set for the transom. Don't know of there is a difference but they have different prices.

So there's no difference between the bow and transom buckles?
