We got a used head and ordered a set of exhaust valves to update it but now I do not trust the intakes on the replacement head . it is a good 04 head , is this a one in a million failure or should we replace the intakes on the replacement head too?

They used weaker materials in the 04-05's that were prone rust pitting, and breaking.
u will need 06+OEM valves to have the latest & greatest, Or some good aftermarket ones.
