Life span of a seadoo 4-tec engines
I have a SeaDoo 2008 RXT 215. I love it. It has seen fresh water in NH it's entire life. I have over 300 hundred hours on it. I have replaced the oil every 40 hours. And sc every 100 hours. Garaged in heated area. Never left in water more than a couple of days. My question is what do you think I can expect to out of the engine before I have to replace the valves. Or any major engine rebuild.

It really all depends and you never know. My buddy had one that threw a rod at about 165 hours and that was that, while others here have done well over 400 hours on a motor before parting with the ski.

Ive been thinking the same thing as i bought my rxpx 260 in june 2012 and have 430 hrs . My dealer just shakes his head but ive spent shit loads of money on maintaning the ski . Thankfully when something went wrong he fixed it under warranty like a head gasket. The ski is in geat condition and i hope to get another 400 to 600 hrs before an engine rebuild. Id like to know the cost of a full engine rebuild if it do go .

They run for a long time, if you don't mod it, never blow a SCer, have a leaking I/C, leaking oil cooler, never overheat for any reason.
