Mystery debris in NA 130 under primary oil pump screen
This is what I found under the primary oil pump screen in the catch pit/plug. That pump is a little roughed up (very little) but this is clearly what took out the scavenger pump. No idea what this could be or how it broke or got in there. Definitely some kind of pattern on the largest piece.

Doesn't look like it - all look complete under each rocker and no dropped valve. Thanks for the lead though.

I am with Chris, definitely a valve keeper. If all your valves are fine, then my guess is that somebody dropped one into the engine sometime in the past, and it eventually fell into an area where it tore some things up. Very easy to do, they are tiny little buggers and hard to install ... need light grease and magnets and still not fun.

my guess is the oem retainer broke at some point and the head was replaced and debris was never recovered.
