Question '96 SL780 top end rebuild

I aquired a '96 SL780 cheap with #1 & #3 pistons scored, I figured that since I have had good luck rebuilding sled motors it would be no problem. I figure I should do all three cylinders since I will be elbow deep in empty beer cans. I also ordered the complete top end gasket set. What tips, torque specs and hints do you guys have to help me rebuild this ski?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Welcome to the hulk!!!
First you should get a manual. If not we can help with specific needs. If you supply details. Most if not all the info is in the tech section.

Welcome to the HULK!!! If you can do sled engines then that 780 will be no problem. Most of the specs are in the tech section, but if you have a problem let us know, we will be glad to help.

Thanks for the welcome feeling. I did find pretty much everything in the tect section I needed. After looking at one of the heads I think I'll be needing one. There are a ton of aluminum frags stuck to it. I'll check e-bay first, maybe I'll get lucky there.

Are you going to rebuild it, or part it out? I read your post at the other site and saw someone pushing you towards selling it. That will be a fun ski if you opt to run it. Oh, and welcome to the BEST Polaris PWC site!!

I have her running again, The compression on all three cylinders are all in the 127-130 range. When I have it running with the garden hose there is a vibration like noise coming from the coupler only when it is at idle, when reving the noise goes away. Is this a worn coupler or what?

It sounds pretty normal. These bad boys like to rattle a tad bit at idle, especially while on the hose. It should be much better while in the water. I'd lube the zirk fitting at the coupler while you're there.
