    2012 rxpx drive shaft removal

    just looked at the manual...BUT...it shows 3 special tools to get this drive shaft out of my 2012 rxpx...what the hell....is there another way so I don't have to take it to the dealer?....I thought you just slide the chrome hat back and remove the c clip and take pump out and whamo...drive shaft removal....manual sounds ridiculous...does anybody have a quick way?

    any tricks on getting the hat back?...it seems when I put preasure on the hat to slide it back the whole assembly moves...even with the pump in....??

    Sounds like its stuck on, spray some lube, is your pump in tight?

    Pull the pump, put a 17 0r 19mm socket in the impeller nose and put the pump back on and only snug it up with 2 bolts evenly, this will keep the shaft from sliding back. have the screw driver or needle nose pliers ready so when you get the hat pulled back you can remove the ring. Same thing to install too.

    thanks...it does stop the shaft after it flexes the rubber a bit...i will try lube and socket...inoticed my metal ring on the pto is not flush anymore ...not sure how to put that back?

    Used a block of wood and sniped a large crescent wrench...lube and lots of it and whamo....hat slid back and i got c clip out...thanks for all the input

    Good work mate, take it out a bit more often and it is always easy to get off!
