    2012 Ultra 300 - Blown head gasket

    After installing the computer chip, the K&N air intake system and the replacement blow-off valve (all from R&D), my 2012 Ultra 300LX has blown the head gasket.
    Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what measures did you take to prevent it from recurring?
    Riva sells a head stud kit that it says will provide "more accurate & consistent torque loading, provides a more uniform clamping force on head gasket and helps prevent blown head gasket and assures optimum engine sealing"

    None of those things should/would have caused a blown head gasket IMO. You over heat it or anything? What else have you done to the ski

    if you run low octane fuel on a tuned ECU and get alot of detonation you could have damaged the head gasket.
    but normally only between cylinders.

    how have you determined you have a blown head gasket , what checks have you done to prove it blown ?

    No other modifications have been made to the jet ski. One of the head bolts was sheared-off which may be a factory defect that caused this issue. I have the ski at the dealer now and should know more in the coming days.

    Part of the gasket was actually sticking out from between the head and the block plus one of the head bolts was sheared off. The dealer will run compression checks of course but it pretty obvious what happened.
