    help with my 02 fx 140

    it runs on the trailer, but not in the water

    Often this means you've got a compression issue. The crank is able to use all it's might to push the bad cylinder when there's no load, but once the impeller has some resistance it won't go.

    Maybe do a compression check as suggested above.

    If it is a compression issue then it might help if you warm it up on the trailer before you put it on the water. Just make sure you have access to a tap at the boat ramp!!
