    2007 gp1300r rebuild question

I am replacing the top end on my waverunner since it was flooded during hurricane sandy. I had to soak the crankcase in rust remover to free it up and remove the pistons from the rods since they were licked up with rust. I also soaked the crankcase in gum out to give it some extra lubrication then vacuumed it out. While waiting for the new pistons to arrive in the mail. My question is this I'm going to start putting everything back together and was wondering if there is anything I should put in the crankcase before I put the pistons back on. Do I put some motor oil in there or is what I have done sufficient.

so you are only replacing the top? i think you should be replacing everything except the cases and maybe cylinders and head.
if that engine was flooded and pistons were lock up like that , the crank is also bad, you may don't see the rust , but the bearings are shot, it will be a ticking bomb.

If i do replace the crankcase is there any lubrication I need to put in, oil or some other lubricant?

you will need to split the cases and replace the crank, clean the cases and close them using threebond 1211, you can lubricate the bearings on the new crank with 2 stroke oil. it's very simple.
