Is it worth putting a Magnum Dyno-Boost on an FX140?

This site is making big claims, but do these devices do much in the real world?

    http://www.magnumtuning.com/en/detai...runner/jet-ski

    Interested to know your thoughts...

    Cheers,

    Matthew

Most of my performance knowledge comes from cars. Though the same principles apply. If you want to get performance out of an fx 140 build the motor and you can squeeze out a few ponies. Is it worth it to me on an fx 140 no. These motors are not necessarily maxed out but its a 1L motor. So to get more hp you need to invest a lot more money. Simple solution buy yourself a 1.8L yamaha

I have two of these machines and love them for what they do save me gas and keep me on the water.

Cheers guys, thats what I thought.

I'm not necessarily looking for a performance increase, but I had heard that the FX140 heavy on fuel compared to the FXHO 160, and I thought it might lean out the mixture a fraction for even better economy than it already has.

I guess the issues with stuffing around with wires as well might hurt the reliability factor as well, so I might stay away from it.

Thankyou very much again for your replies!

Lol, I have a hunch as to what something is, but I'm always open to being corrected...

Only mods worth a dam are high flow filter, getting rid of the flame arrestors, and Riva Racing rear pipe. Those will net you a solid 2-3mph top end change. Otherwise nothing else does much on these ski's. She is a heavy, N/A motor with a high rpm limit. I tried to find a place to tune the ECU to raise the rev limit up like the R1s have. Could not find a single place that would touch it. Oh well. It's a fun ski and gets good mpg when you cruise it around.

Agreed. I was mainly looking to increase the economy further if it was possible; means I don't have to carry any spare fuel on long rides.
