piston looks lean plugs look rich?

    Attachment 333575

Did a plug chop after new carb settings, with new plugs, good gap. Low speed chop looked good, brownish tan, high speed was a little lighter but still tan. The plugs developed a black soot around the rim of the plug at the end of the day so I figured it was running a little rich no biggy, but when I got home pulled the head cover and the wash looked lean. I'm thinking the low setting is rich and high setting is lean. Any other opinions or thoughts?

I don't know...wash pattern looks great to me. If it's not fouling plugs then leave it.
