Sea Doo Supercharger Failure on a NEW X-Charger after 22 hours Snow City Toronto ..

    Hi guys,

I have decided to create this topic for everyone to follow as it is a very interesting (sad) story. To give a brief history on this case, in June 2012 the engine couldn't start I brought it to a dealer here in Toronto, Ontario Snow City ( www.snowcity.com ). They bill me 6500$ to buy a new charger clean everything, rebuild my engine, PTO, oil pumps etc. I got the sky back late September 2012 so I lost the summer season, I couldn't use it. Their warranty policy is 90 days parts and labour.

In 2013 I did not ride it a lot as I was a month in vacation away from the country. This year beginning of the season SC drive gear broke and did a lot of damages to my engine, see the pics I am still discovering and trying to understand what options I have now. After 22 hours on the new supercharger, talking to the dealer they are not very friendly or helping so far.

I still have hopes the dealer or Bombardier will do something about this case as this is not NORMAL at all, their SC gear broke brand new charger after 22 hours causing all of this damage now.
I have spent so much $$$$ at this dealer on parts and service for both my motorcycle and jet sky..I can't believe this service, I am seriously thinking to take them or Bombardier to small claim court for this. The second time when some part on the charger breaks on this sky ...

What are your thoughts on this ?

Sue them in small claims court for negligence not breach of warranty. If in the USA (which I understand you are not) you could also bring a claim for the breach of the implied warranty of merchantability based upon the parts (was the supercharger gear the first thing to go?) being defective at the time of installation. Maybe there's a Canadian equivalent?

    That's so sad.

Dealers who treat good customers like that. There is NOTHING (well almost) that you could have done to cause that gear to break like that.

Really hope you get a resolve from the dealer in one way or another. As for BRP, I cannot believe their customer service (or lack of) and when one of their parts fails they don't stand it or the damage it causes. Whats more, when they KNOW they have a problem they try everything to try and push it back on their customers. Then the new season comes and they target you with their new skis, do they think we have goldfish memories. I'm pretty much done with BRP when it's time for a change.

Boy what a gapping hole in the market for a great little ski maker to launch a well engineered ski together with an A1 user focussed experience. Hands up, I'd be there in a flash even if I had to lose some of my creature comforts.

I really hope that day comes before I'm too old to ride!!

I love Sea Doo and the handling the speed getting 70Miles on the clock but with all that love and hate in the same time I won't buy Sea Doo anytime soon. I will be a Yami or Kawi for my new jetsky coming soon hopefully.

looks to me like they don't know how to adjust the slip on the superchargers. Looks to me like the clutch was set too tight.
