    185 into 215 rxp hull swap

    I am going to swap my old gtx 185 sc motor and elerctonics into an 2004 rxp hull wondering how I can make the vts work which harrnes would I use also can dealear remap my 185 ecu to 215 tune and I put fordged pistons in motor and swap bolth supercharger gears also want to use a external water to air any info would help thanks

    where are the rxp electronics ?
    upgrading a 185 is not cheap or easy

    I am hoping there in the hull I bought but not sure havnt got it yet

    Use RXP Electronics to enable VTS and have the RXP tune. Sometimes you'll find these on the classifieds. To avoid having to buy a new intake manifold buy a fizzle Intercooler. The stock is a POS anyways. If the motor is still apart from changing the pistons change your valves. I was told the 185's were the worst for dropping a valve, so I would get those changed out before you get too far. Other then that you'll love the swap, I went from a GTX 185 to RXP 215 and haven't looked back since.

    IMO you don't need to change the pistons if you plan on using a wimpy 215SC and 8100 rev limit

    can you make a 185 a 255 with x chager and ecu tune rising rate fpr and 42 lb injectors I wanted to use this ic any ways http://www.ebay.com/itm/Turbo-Water-...0e5cba&vxp=mtr but need to figure out how to filter water into it so it doesn't plug whats internally different from a 185 to a 255 bore and stroke the same? pistons fordged? in bolth can you make a 185 ecu a 215 from a dealer flash? thanks

    no dealer flash, they cant
    you need a ecu for the year of rxp you have
    or you could vtech flash it
    may need a candoo to turn on the vts
    you should be able to find that IC for close to $100

    185 has cast pistons, not forged, slightly lower comp ratio, same bore and stroke. They are Mahle pistons (same manufacturer that makes pistons for porsche i believe) so they aren't crap but not as strong as their forged brothers in the 215/255/260 models.
    Camshaft in 185 is slightly different, probably to suit its intended 7600 rpm limit v's the higher rpm limit of the 215/255/260 motors
    185 fuel reg psi is lower, i cant remember the numbers now.
    and as you have already mentioned, flywheels and charger cogs are different.
