    New owner of Kawasaki 310R

    Hello,

Firs of all, I am new to Kawasaki Jet Ski.

I just made a down payment for 310R, and hopefully will be getting it by the beginning of the next week.

However, I have some questions and I am hoping that you can help me with my questions.

Do I need to break in a new jet ski? If yes for how many hours, and at what speed I should drive?

Do I need to install some modifications like Stage 1 ?

What should I consider for a new jet ski?

Sorry for noob questions, as I am new to jet skis!
    Thank you.

welcome...follow break in mode as per manual keepin rpms around 2500 for first 5 mins and no more than 3/4 throttle around 45- 50 mph for the first 5 hrs, vary your rpms keeping below 60 mph (7000rpms)after 5 hrs you can go full throttle 67 mph (7600)...

Since your new to skiing DO NOT mod keep it bone stock for the first yr, learn and feel how these things operate, practice and learn how to launch the trailer into the water, docking, using reverse, how to " lean " into turns, know your space from other boaters, read the manual and practice and know what all the instrumentation does especially warning indicators...

After a yr and maybe 40 -50 hrs you research how to enhance the ability these machines have in the aftermarket world...

Sambo how much better is you 0-50 with the listed mods?

I dont really care to much about top speed. I like the take off way more then the top numbers. Im leaving my ski stock until the warranty runs out tho.

No, you don't need to, especially if you are new to this.
It's like you are trying to do some "weird" stuff on your first date... just enjoy and spend some time with her first.

Get the speed control override for $150 and call it a day - anything else, aside from prop tuning, is fractional gains for alot more money. ECU flash if you must have the ultimate holeshot, but then you need a new prop as well

In the new manual for the 310 it says for the break-in to just use the SLO key for the first hour.
Compared to the other skis I've owned this s/c makes a LOT of noise, sometimes it can get annoying, so the SLO key has to go in
