    Question on SVHO Re-Flash required mods

    If I was to do the R1 reflash http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=2536 would this cooling kit work? http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=2586

    Or would I still need this cooling kit? http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=2579
    If this be the case I would just do the R2 kit and be done with it.

    I know that the blow off valve will be needed too. Would the ribbon delete and power filter be required for any of these kits aswell? How about exhaust?

    This is a FX by the way.

    I would do the full kit, because you are going to be increasing rpm which goes hand in hand with boost and heat. As for the air and manifold upgrade they wouldn't be required in my opinion but defiantly will help bring in cooler air and reduce the possibility of running lean. Another note if your going to just do the r1 and nothing else you should just do the speed bypass cause you will probably see about the same speed and since your not doing the intake and manifold upgrade you shouldn't be on the limiter. here is link for bypass http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=2571

    I was looking for a stronger hole shot as well. Hoping the reflash helps with that

    A buddy put a R2 on his SVHO every thing else completely bone stock....ran a 74.3 GPS with about a 1/3 tank of fuel...no superman......seems to run a lil warmer...thats about 6 mph jump from stock of 68.5....improved hole shot and mid range also...sounded like 2 hits from the dig....

    Anyone know the difference between the 2 cooling kits. Can the lower cost one be modified to represent something closer to the larger one? I believe both require drilling thru hull correct? There are no videos or instructions I can find on them....

    Also I read somewhere about installing the older SHO thermostat as it opens sooner than the stock svho stat does. I assume this is a common cooling mod as well?

    I Pulled my Stock SVHO Thermostat out and was amazed it was a 60c/140f Thermostat. I thought they were hotter,no bigge. With the Bigger wheels and Florida Heat I'm definitely seeing a performance drop off. Now I got a one with variable Temp control

    Where did you get this new stat? What at what temp does it start/fully open?

    Immediately, Modified Stocker Freaking Hot down here 85 water temps 95f air temps

    When I tested my stat it started to crack open around 140-145 and didn't fully open till around 160-170.

    As of now I gutted the stat and left the rim and seal only
