wire harness for adding vts to RXT

Just about got all parts gathered to add vts to my 07 RXT. Ski has RXT-X shoe so vts hole present but plugged. My last thing to acquire is the main wiring harness and have a couple ideas I'm wanting to see what opinions are as to the best method. I read over Gus's thread and seems he opted for the RXP harness. Sounds good but even that harness needs to be modified to work in the RXT as he noted. So I was thinking couldn't one fabricate the vts harness portion and tap into the main harness with the proper wiring diagram, which I have on hand. Seems either way a mod is required but what way would be best, or easier? I have a few other minor thoughts cookin up but tackling this one first.

you may need to modify the program module
I modified a rxp harness for my gtx
and have not finished the job because
    I get open circuit errors
after I finish my turbo project I will start on the module
I used dash, ecu, both harness, controler and vts from a 05 rxp
so everything except the module, that may be next

If u get a Main harness from an 07' RXP everything should work, and hook right up, with the VTS wiring already installed. You'll just need to get the 07' RXP steering harness to go with it.

The harness's change in 08+ . The Voltage regulator, fuel pump module, tank, & steer harness are different.

not so sure we'd be comparing apples to apples there. The 05 RXP main harness interfaced to an MPEM while the 07 it's gone and electronics much different.

ahh..seems someone always beats me to the punch..lol

Anyway...psyco, in Gus's thread he mentioned how the gauge cluster connector was shorter and he had to modify that and then relocate the rectifier. That mods portion was why I was kind of thinking about the possibility of fabricating a vts harness and tap it in. I thought maybe a fabricated vts harness would save tearing out the RXT harness and swapping it for an 05 RXP harness, and then modifying even that one. Just wonder if anyone ever thought of modifying that RXT harness for vts? Almost seems like it would be less work if done right.

Ya I was just looking over the microfiche of an 08 RXT-X and seemed like it was changed but wasn't sure...you confirmed that suspicion.

Gus modified his 06' RXT with an MPEM to "tap in" VTS.

In 06' the Dess post used 3 wires, and the connectors were different to the 07+ Main harness's.
In 07' the DESS post now has 4 wires.
the 08'+ steer harness With VTS uses (2) 6pin grey connectors (1 male,) 1 female.

As with any "modified" harness If u try to add VTS wiring to a factory harness, it would run the risk of corrosion, and problems down the road. (more so for salt water riding)

I just added VTS to my 05'RXT hull by using all 08+ motor, Dash, gas tank, pump, regulator, & wiring from an 08 RXT-X. All wiring was plug & play.

I've done electrical mods before and never had a corrosion problem if done right with proper weather packs, solder & water tight shrink tubing at any splice. Not saying it's the road I'm going to go with this one as I'm still trying to decide what's best, cleanest, or easiest....seems like a toss up honestly.
