    07 fx ho

Just pick up a 07 fx ho with 97 hrs on it in excellent condition? Currently own the same model ski. I notice that the one I just picked up exhaust is a lot louder when run out of water for acouple of seconds the other one that I've owned since new when started is very quiet. I searched but couldn't find anything everything is stock? There definitely is a different tone to it. Anything to be scared about? Thanks

Im probably wrong but pretty sure his has to do with a worn down resonator in the exhaust system. I thought there was a plate in the exhaust that has a bunch of holes in it, almost looks like the drain in a shower. I know Vx have them and i remove them for a faster and better sounding ski. fx140?

there is no such plate on the fxho's exhaust , i went through the whole system to find out where the problem was. cause it sounds way different from the other.

I wonder how much performance increase the waverunner would gain deleting both the intake flame arestor ribbon and the shower drain (valve exhaust)?

haha, shower drain part number #18 in the diagram > http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamaha/Waverunner/2007/WAVERUNNER%20FX%20CRUISER%20HIGH%20OUTPUT%20-%20FX1100AF/EXHAUST%203/parts.html

i think the better word is 'free up' instead of gain. Yamaha did a good job at detuning these skis. Once you add all the free and inexpensive mods together, is when youll see a gain. There is a ton of info on this forum about mods and repairs. Get a comfy chair and start reading. haha.

i can assure you it wont be much , i did all that to one of them and it had a bit more acceleration and like 1 1/2 mile increase , including a new prop.
