    sxr800 rebuild?

Hey guys. Kinda new here so bare with me.. Just recently purchased an 04 sxr800 put about 5 hours on it and cooked it. Talked to the recent owner and he said it was rebuilt about 10 hours before he sold it. What happened to me was the rear piston is cooked and the head is gone as well. Looks like it broke a ring then burned the piston and wrecked the dome. Other side is mint. Still holds 150 no problem and the dead side was about 50. So I'm thinking have it bored out put new Pistons in with an aftermarket head and call it good? Of course all new gaskets as well. Need some feedback! Thanks in advance

Carburetor cleaning and rebuild to spec might be a good idea.

Does it still have the original fuel hoses? Are they gray Tempo brand hoses?

Well, you need to figure out why it failed so it doesn't happen again.

No cooling? No oil? Too lean? Too little piston ring gap or cylinder clearance?

I'm almost thinkin to lean. But what's the best way to figure that out?

Having the jug looked at tomorrow to see if it's still good then go from there. Not sure about hoses. I'll have to look

The hoses look to be black with whitish writing on them..

Where's a good place to get specs on rebuild? Such as torque levels and everything else
