    Starter change/removal question 07

    seadoo 07 gti

Need to switch out the starter. Do I have to remove the whole top end to get at the starter? Does anyone know of any tutorials online of this?

    Thanks so much

No two bolts the positive wire and it slides out of the PTO.

It won't be easy but you can do it without removing the intake manifold. Get a mirror down there so you can see what the hell you're doing.

The starter is on the exhaust side.

Find a friend with long skinny arms. Tape over the edge of exposed fiberglass on the exhaust side. If you have a torque plate it's even more fun

Did you get it done? I'm curious how hard a job it is. I mean, you can't even see the damn thing buried down there.

With the exhaust manifold off it's dead easy and in plain view. I swapped out my torx from the manifold to hex which makes removal a doddle. Worth a thought, it's very well buried down there.

Wasn't bad at all, didn't have to remove anything, it was just awkward, 2 bolts and it was out

    Thanks!
