Shutoff valve installed... something fell out that I cannot identify...

So I installed a shutoff valve today. Pretty straightforward. However, when I was rooting around and connecting the hose ends to the valve I heard something metallic drop and start rolling around in the hull. A magnet fished this spring out of the hull. Could this have fallen out of the hose? Is this something that keeps the hose from collapsing? Anyone ever seen a spring like this in their ski? This is a 2007 Wake 215 with 30 hours on it that I just bought and I highly doubt anyone's been tinkering in there before me.

Never seen this part before. Would be strange, but the shape suggests it is for use inside the hose to stop it collapsing when turning 90 degrees. I need one of those!!!!

That's what I was thinking. Maybe this part sits inside where the hose makes a 90 and heads back to the intercooler. Can someone please squeeze their hose (har har) at the 90 and see if you can feel a spring inside the hose?

It won't be a stock thing if it is. All hoses are pre shaped so don't need anything inside. I think it's come from a "one size fits all" hose kit, so you can form a 90 degree.

Then I am baffled for sure. I know the guy who owned the ski before me did absolutely nothing to it so I don't know where the spring could possibly have come from if not inside the hose that I cut open. You don't think it could have come from inside the intercooler when I cut the hose do you?

There's nothing like that in the IC, thankfully. I'd put it in your man drawer and wait to see what happens, 99% nothing to do with that, but 100% something else that'll need attention and cash!!
