    Skegs in back of hull

I don't know if you would call them skegs as they are recessed. I know they are there to provide grip while going thru turns, but I wonder if they are slowing us down at high speed

Dan, they are on the trailing edge on the hull between the ride plate and where the OPAS used to be. Are you sure you don't have them?

one of those on the other side is for the speedomter right?

i just got back to the computer from being under my ski siliconing and filling the rideplate holes andplating with JB weld... and i saw that same "skeg".. dunno if it's there for the purpose of the speedomter and they made one on each side so the hull is symmetrical?

i'm surprised you haven't done this already jerry, but i'm down to think about havin the hull overhauled... completely sanded and trued and re-sprayed. to my eye things don't look perfect under there as far as true-ness.

and there's alot fo weird contours and grooves and flatness and sharpness in all different spots on these hulls... when u study it, it's kinda screwed up lookin! i wonder how much science went into each and every contour of the hull

Oh okay Dan so you filled yours in. Im thinking about doing the same thing. I have asked Tommy with Fountain Racing and am waiting on a response from him.

Dan, thanks for the IC bro! Do you still need my shipping address?

Shibby, if you put a straight edge on the bottom of your ski you will see how seriously "un-true" they are.

I put rope in them and used aluminum tape to cover them up just for kicks. First run they were gone!

Tommy from Fountain responded and said as long as they were indented in the hull they were not scrubbing any speed.

Im going to leave them alone for now.

I'm getting ready to fill mine from the speedo to make room for trim tabs.
