Fx 140 pouring raw fuel out when running

Hi I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have an 03 Fx140 and it's pouring a massive amount of raw fuel when running on the garden hose. It looks like the water is coming out of the jet pump and the fuel is pouring out of the intake grate. I can only see one fuel line coming off the pump going into the injector rail. I'm assuming the injectors pulse like they would in a car, so I can't figure out how that much fuel is coming out. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Other than you taking a look, might be either the connection from the fuel pump to fuel hose or the fuel hose to the rail. Try just bumping the starter and seeing what you can. The fuel pump should pressurize and you should see where the leak is coming from. Is it in the hull or out the exhaust? If out the exhaust, maybe a stuck injector or possibly a faulty ECU.

that would be my luck for it to be a bad ecu. I pulled each of the four plugs and cylinder 1 plug stunk like fuel so I swapped it out and no change. fortunately I have an identical ski I'm rebuilding the motor on. I'll try to swap the ecm and see where that gets me. Thanks

Maybe a stuck injector, but heard that issue before being caused by the ECU.

If it is just one injector, then possibly bad wiring......if more then one injector over fuelling, then that would point more to bad ECU. Swopping the ECU should point you in the right direction......at least you have parts to swop!

ok I'm going to try swapping the ecm tomorrow. I doubt it's just one injector. There's so much raw fuel pouring out that I thought it was oil. It almost looked like a lemonade color. I realized it was fuel when I stuck my finger in it and I could smell it. I have no fuel leaking in the hull at all. I didn't know it was possible for the injectors to dump that much fuel, even if stuck open. Thanks for the advise. I will update this after I swap it out so other people with this issue will know what to do.

make sure you change the oil , and be careful , the exhaust is full of gas , try somehow to drain all that gas before start the engine.

funny that you mention that. I was trying to change the oil and it was very milky. I thought it was water mixing in with it but then when I smelled it I could smell gas. I will drain it all and try to drain it from the exhaust. Thanks

ecm was the problem. It's not pouring fuel anymore. Weird thing is that when it was filling with raw fuel it was starting right up and idling perfectly. Yesterday after swapping the ecu it started up and chugged and smoked like hell. Obviously it was burning out the excess fuel, but I wonder why it didn't smoke when it was dumping it raw. Going to change the oil today hopefully it runs better. Thanks for your help.

Good to know, bad as it's the ECU.
