    Cleaning oil transfer pumps

    After performing my first oil change w/ the transfer pump, I'm wondering how you guys clean out the pumps?
    Maybe not the pump specifically, since I figure it's better to keep the piston lubed, but more-so the hoses so they're not constantly dripping oil all over your garage floor/tool box.

    Acetone? Paint-thinner? Or just plug the ends w/ paper towels?

    I disconnect the tubes on mine and stand them up with a few paper towels under them and let the oil drain out. Takes a few days but they become pretty clear of oil.

    On the container itself, I just pour as much of the oil out as I can after I change the oil in my wave runners and never clean it completely. I figure the oil lubricates it and nothing really bad will happens it because of a few ounces of oil left in the bottom.

    Newb here, what pumps do you guys use? Are you using full synthetic oil? And what's the regular oil change period? Thanks
    p.s. What brand of Synthetic oil is most commonly used?

    Here's a link with some transfer pumps, as well as the oil kit that I, and I think a majority of the Doo guys on here use;

    I just clip the hose up high and let as much oil run down into the tank. Then unhook the hose and coil it up and plug one end to the other.
    I also use mine to extract the Hi Pro oil out of my jet boat stator. That stuff takes forever to run out of the hose in the Fall.
